Art on the Seat at Art on the Street

Hospice Wellington and the Joint Café present “Art on The Seat” at Art on the Street July 12 in the RBC parking lot, 74 Wyndham St. N., downtown Guelph.

Co-organised by the DGBA and the Guelph Arts Council, Art on the Street is a highly-regarded exhibition and sale that has become a staple calendar event for art lovers of all ages.

The event is an opportunity to browse original works of art and shop for one-of-a-kind gifts. A juried selection of artisans will display works including just about every medium: textiles, pottery, photography, watercolours, oils, acrylic and more.

At Booth 23, an auctioneer will facilitate the selling of chairs decorated by students from John F. Ross CVI, and enjoyed by patrons of the Joint Café over the last year.

“I was thrilled when the Joint Café asked if I would like to make this a J.F. Ross project,” says Karin Silverstone, art teacher at J.F. Ross.

Bobbi Miner-Neal, owner of the Joint Café, has asked her customers to vote on their favourite chairs and will award the students first, second and third place based on the voting.

All proceeds go to the Art Therapy programs at Hospice Wellington.
