Council here has approved the purchase of a new snowplow.
Council endorsed the $227,000 purchase at its May 26 meeting, recommended in a report from newly hired treasurer Paul Dowber.
“The 2014 capital budget provides for the replacement of a 2000 Volvo Autocar plow,” the treasurer said in his report. “Staff confirmed the need for the replacement…based on the deterioration and the cost of repair to the present unit.”
