Blue Rodeo to headline Riverfest Elora in August

Blue Rodeo, Serena Ryder,  Arkells, Charles Bradley and Dan Mangan will headline Riverfest Elora on Aug. 22 and 23.

The sixth annual celebration of music, food, community and art is returning to Bissell Park and has been extended to two days this year.

This year’s line-up will include a Saturday night headline performance from Juno award-winners Blue Rodeo and Serena Ryder.

Friday night’s headliner will be Arkells, another Juno award winner, and soulman Charles Bradley.

Rounding out the headliners is Vancouver folk-rock storyteller Dan Mangan, a Juno award winner  and nominee for the Polaris Music Prize.

Friday also includes: The Strumbellas, Kim Churchill, and Messenjah, along with a star-studded festival jam session.

Saturday’s line-up will also feature:  Elliott Brood, Young Galaxy, Quartette, Odd Years, Eccodek, Jadea Kelly, and local rock band Snack.

Riverfest is an all-ages licensed event. Wine, beer and food will be for sale, and provided by local businesses. Local art will be available from vendors in Artisans Alley.

Weekend passes are $75, free for children under 14 with a paid guardian.

Passes will go on sale May 16 and can be purchased online at riverfestelora.com or in local businesses.

Details about individual day passes will be available at a later date.

Gates open at 5pm on Friday and 2pm on Saturday, with music kicking off at 5:30pm and 2:30pm respectively.

Riverfest Elora was founded in 2009 by artist Marilyn Koop who passed away in April 2012.
