Devils down one game in OMHA championship

The Erin/Hillsburgh Peewee Devils finished a respectable third place in the Tri-Country Minor Hockey regular season, but winning the OMHA championship is their goal.

After winning the preliminary round, the Devils advanced to the quarter finals against Pelham, winning that series in four games.

The quarter finals were much anticipated as the team knew it was going to have to dig deep to earn the final spot in the OMHA finals, winning again in four games.

“It was great to see the large fan support at the opening game of the OMHA Championship series on March 15,” said head coach Bob Vavaroutsos.

“The boys played a great game and were disappointed in the (2-1) overtime loss against Collingwood.

“They are looking forward to playing up in Collingwood with back-to-back games this coming weekend and are aiming for a better outcome.”
