East Wellington Community Services launched its Give a Gift of Community Support fundraising campaign in early December and as of Jan. 6, a total of $23,000 put the agency $2,000 shy of its fundraising target of $25,000.
EWCS manager community and volunteer services Erika Westcott said, “This is incredible! Thank you so much to everyone who has contributed to this campaign … we are just blown away with the immense support from our community.
“Alone we can do so little, but together, we can do so much.”
She explained the donations will make a huge impact in the community during the coming year.
“Every donation that our agency receives is important, no matter the individual amount,” said Westcott.
Children’s programs help parents, caregivers and children to share information learn to play, prepare for the transition to school and much more.
“There are so many needs and EWCS is constantly striving to make sure that our community is cared for through those life struggles that they are facing,” Westcott said.
EWCS executive director Kari Simpson adds, “Part of being able to continue to serve our residents is finding out what programs or services are most needed.”
Anyone still wishing to make a donation may do so either in person at 45 Main Street in Erin or 106 Church Street in Rockwood.
Online donations can be made at www.canadahelps.org and selecting East Wellington Community Services.
Donations are greatly appreciated at all times of the year.
