Society hosts card parties

Regular card parties hosted by the Clifford District Horticultural Society offer an opportunity for fun and socializing, organizers say.

On Jan. 9, 20 people played progressive euchre and solo at the Clifford Community Hall.

In euchre, Larry Grummett earned the high score with a 61 and the high lady was Helen Braun with a 52. The low man, Merle Freeman, and the low lady, Elsie Grummett, both scored a 36. In solo, the high man was Reinhard Lange, high lady Shirley Murray, low man Jack Murray, and low lady Jean Yenssen.

After the games end and the scores are counted, a light luncheon is set out by volunteers.

The next card parties will be held Feb. 13 and March 13 at the community hall. The fee for participants is $3.
