The Waterloo Wellington Local Health Integration Network (WWLHIN) recently announced the appointment of Jeff Nesbitt to its board of directors for a three-year term.
“I am pleased to welcome Jeff Nesbitt to our board of directors,” said Joan Fisk, chair.
“The Waterloo Wellington Local Health Integration Network’s primary focus is on the health and well-being of the residents we serve. Jeff’s extensive experience in development and community engagement will bring a broad community-based perspective on engaging providers and residents in the transformation of our health care system.”
Nesbitt, currently the head of partner engagement at Communitech, brings a wealth of expertise in strategic planning, leadership, and stakeholder engagement to the WWLHIN’s board, officials note.
Communitech is a leading technology-enabling organization that supports the growth of more than 1,000 technology companies.
“I am excited to join the Waterloo Wellington Local Health Integration Network Board of Directors. My passion lies in helping organizations infuse an innovative mindset and push for big ideas,” Nesbitt said.
“I look forward to utilizing my expertise and experience to support the board in making resident-focused and strategic decisions to enhance local health care delivery.”
The WWLHIN is governed by a board of nine directors who are selected by the Lieutenant Governor and appointed through Order in Council.
The board is bound by agreements with the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care, is responsible for the management and control of the affairs of the WWLHIN and is the key point of interaction with the ministry. Board members are required to deal transparently with complex and sometimes controversial issues and to be constantly engaging the community in an ongoing conversation.
