East Wellington Community Services unwrap special gift on Dec. 4

Join East Wellington Community Services and Transition Erin for an Evening of Dickens Dec. 4 at the Erin United Church. For a donation, enjoy a community supper of homemade soup at 6pm followed by festivities of the evening getting underway at 7pm.

East Wellington Community Services will be unwrapping something special as part of this evening and we are hoping that many in the community will come out in support of this event…and to discover something special with EWCS.

“I can’t say what we’ll be unwrapping…but it will be a fun evening as we launch something very special,” said Erika Westcott, Manager, Community and Volunteer Services.

“It will be a great evening of community that will start to kindle the joy of the Christmas season. To quote Dickens, There is nothing in the world so irresistibly contagious as laughter and good humour. This evening will be that, and more.”

Festivities will feature a reading of Dickens – A Christmas Carol by Andrew Welch, a member of Transition Erin followed with sing-a-long of carols.

“Transition Erin, as part of their mandate, is committed to enhancing the quality of life for the people of Erin. With the work that East Wellington Community Services does, we wanted to host an even that would help them with their work but also help them with their special launch and unwrapping that special gift…It’s a perfect night of fun, laughter and above all, community, to celebrate all that the Christmas season has to offer.” said Andrew Welch.

There is no admission fee for the evening, but those attending are encouraged to give a donation, as proceeds collected from the evening will be given to East Wellington Community Services to help support the agency and the many programs and services that the organization runs to strengthen the fabric of the community for the more than 11,000 residents in the Town of Erin.
