The Advertiser encourages all county residents to attend one of the Remembrance Day ceremonies listed below.
Note: Please arrive early, as some of the ceremonies are listed as having an 11am start, but may actually begin at least 10 minutes earlier.
CENTRE WELLINGTON
Services in Centre Wellington include:
– Belwood, Nov. 10 at 12:30pm at the Belwood cenotaph;
– Salem, Nov. 11 at 9:30am at the Salem cenotaph;
– Elora, Nov. 11 at 11am at the Elora cenotaph; and
– Fergus, Nov. 11 at 11am at the cenotaph, with a parade leaving the Legion at about 10:30am.
ERIN
There will be a ceremony in Erin on Nov. 10 at the cenotaph at 10:30am, followed by parade to the Legion for a service at noon. There will be a second ceremony at the Erin cenotaph on Nov. 11 at 11am.
GUELPH-ERAMOSA
The regular Remembrance ceremony in Rockwood will be held on Nov. 9 at 10:45am at the cenotaph, with a parade starting at 10:30am on Guelph Street near the post office.
There will also be a Remembrance Day service catered to local students on Nov. 11 at 10:50am at the cenotaph. Members of the public are welcome to attend.
MAPLETON
The annual ceremony is set for 2:30pm at the Drayton cenotaph, with a parade departing from the Legion about 10 minutes earlier.
MINTO
There are three services in the town:
– Clifford, Nov. 10 at 2:30pm at community centre;
– Harriston, Nov. 11 at 11am at the cenotaph; and
– Palmerston, Nov. 11 at 11am at the cenotaph.
PUSLINCH
The Puslinch Optimist Club will be hosting the Remembrance Day Service at the Puslinch Community Centre in Aberfoyle on Nov. 11 starting at 11am.
WELLINGTON NORTH
There will be two ceremonies in the township on Nov. 11:
– Arthur, with a parade starting at 10:30am from the Legion to the 11am service at the cenotaph; and
– Mount Forest with a parade from the Legion at 10:30am to the cenotaph service at 11am.
