Christmas may be almost two months away, but the elves at EWCS are already starting to prepare for Christmas, the annual Christmas Hamper and Adopt-a-Family program.
There are many ways to help with this program, from sponsoring gifts or helping provide or both.
Many families struggle at Christmas and this program is one way EWCS continues to support the community members in need.
“With a 13 per cent increase in overall usage at the food bank from last year to this year, we are anticipating we will see more need in helping families at Christmas than ever before,” said Alyssa Cunningham, care coordinator with East Wellington Community Services.
“This program is such a great way to help those in the community and there are so many ways to get involved. One client last year broke into tears when they came to pick up their hamper while others said that the program helps them, and their children, hope for the future and it makes a huge impact for families.”
If you or someone you know would like to register as family to receive a Christmas Hamper this year, contact EWCS for more details.
