A meeting for a proposed subdivision within Fergus has been deferred because of public response to the project.
“On Sept. 20, the Township of Centre Wellington gave notice of an application and of a public meeting regarding a proposed draft plan of condominium and a proposed zoning amendment.
However, as a result of the amount of feedback received, the public meeting originally set for Oct. 28 at 6pm has been cancelled and will be rescheduled for a future date to better accommodate the number of attendees expected.
The Heritage Square proposal by Jennark Homes under consideration is a parcel of land bordered by St. David (Highway 6), Garafraxa, James and Forfar streets.
The northern boundary of the property under consideration is a former railway line between St. David and James streets. Notice will be provided for the future public meeting.
The township is still accepting written comments, which should be submitted by Oct. 28.
Additional information regarding the proposal remains available for public viewing at the Township of Centre Wellington municipal offices or by calling Chantalle Pellizzari, planning co-ordinator, at 519-846-9691 ext. 241.
Information can also be found on the township website at http://www.centrewellington.ca/departments/planning/notices/pages/default.aspx.
Information regarding the proposed draft plan of condominium is also available for inspection at the county planning and development department, 74 Woolwich Street in Guelph.
