For the seventh season, the Wellington County Museum and Archives is hosting a weekly series of eclectic activities for families and visitors in Wellington County.
Each Wednesday afternoon in July and August, from 1 to 4pm, a theme activity or presentation will take place. All programs are appropriate for families and adults of all ages.
The next event is a tour of the Elora Cemetery on July 17.
Organizers are pleased to have instructors from the Scientist in the School program joining us in our renovated barn on July 24 for some intensive Simple Machine activities.
July ends with a drop-in workshop on July 31 entitled How Sweet It Is, which offers a chance to make homemade candy.
August starts with the museum’s popular annual tradition, the formal summer tea party on Aug. 7. On Aug. 14 there will be a barn dance, led by historian and musician Marty Pullen.
On Aug. 21 in the lower fields there will be a demonstration of “Stooking 101.” Learn the art of arranging sheaves to dry so they can be threshed.
Aug. 28 provides star-gazing tips from University of Waterloo professor of astronomy, Brian McNamara.
