Municipal 511 update
WELLINGTON COUNTY – Local police say they are “enhancing [their] public communication by adding emergency road closures onto the Municipal 511 website.”
The updates will occur “24 hours a day, seven days a week” and serve as the Wellington County OPP’s “primary source of emergency road closure information,” police stated in an Oct. 24 press release.
The OPP added its West Region social media accounts “will be used as a supplement form of communication.”
Municipal 511 is a map-based road information service “designed to enhance communication between the police, the municipality and the public,” police stated.
“This platform will streamline the emergency road closure notification process across Wellington County” and will include road closure information for provincial highways as well as county and lower-tier municipal roads.
Police encourage residents to visit Municipal511, before departing on road trips.
