Guelph/Eramosa man faces child pornography, luring charges

GUELPH/ERAMOSA – A Guelph/Eramosa man is facing child pornography and child luring charges following a 16-month police investigation.

Wellington County OPP officials say police began a child luring investigation on June 11, 2024 “as a result of a public complaint.”

Details regarding the complaint fall under the realm of evidentiary information, which will not be disclosed now that the matter is before the courts,” OPP spokesperson Matthew Burton stated on Oct. 15 in response to an Advertiser request for more information.

Daniel Thomas Ridgeway, 39, of Guelph/Eramosa, was charged with possession of child pornography, luring a person under the age of 18 and possession of child pornography for publication.

He was held for a bail hearing in Guelph on Oct. 15.
