PALMERSTON – The Town of Minto Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee is offering a special Community Accessibility Presentation featuring accessibility advocate and consultant Julie Sawchuk of Sawchuk Accessible Solutions.
The event will take place on Oct. 1 at 7pm at the Palmerston Community Centre (520 Cavan St.) and is sponsored by the County of Wellington.
This free public event will highlight how accessibility goes beyond compliance – it’s about creating spaces that ensure safety, dignity and independence for everyone, town officials stated in a press release.
“Attendees will gain valuable insights into how simple, thoughtful changes can transform homes, businesses, and community spaces to better serve all residents,” the release continued.
“Accessibility is about inclusion,” stated Sawchuk.
“By making our communities safer and more welcoming, we strengthen connections and ensure everyone can participate fully in community life.”
The presentation is open to all residents, business owners and community leaders who are interested in learning practical strategies for improving accessibility in Minto.
The Town of Minto invites community members to attend this important event and take part in building a more accessible and inclusive future.
