HARRISTON – The Harriston Skating Club (HSC) has announced the appointment of Rose Brawley as its new head coach taking over for the 2025–2026 season.
With a background in ice dance, synchronized skating, and figure skating instruction, she has earned multiple first-place finishes in regional and national competitions.
“Rose has proudly represented Canada on the international stage with the Nexxice Senior and Elite 12 teams, achieving a Canadian record and podium placements at the Canada Cup, Mozart Cup, and Spring Cup,” said HSC officials.
Holding Canskate and Regional Coach Cer-tifications and working toward her Provincial Coach Certification, Brawley is also certified in First Aid, Respect in Sport, and numerous NCCP coaching modules.
Brawley will be taking over from Karen Moore, “a cornerstone of the Harriston skating community who has taught generations of Minto-area families the joy of skating,” officials stated.
Moore will remain with the club, offering private coaching and continuing to share her expertise with skaters.
“This is a pivotal and exciting moment for our club, Rose’s expertise and energy will help us grow our programs and inspire the next generation of skaters in our community,” stated HSC president Stephanie Foster.
“We’re grateful for Karen’s many years of leadership and thrilled that she will continue to work with our skaters.”
