MINTO – Whites Road Pentecostal Church, outside of Harriston, honoured Bill Brown on his 99th birthday on July 27.
Brown grew up on a farm in Westmeath, Ontario. After working at a few different jobs in a variety of locations, Brown was called into ministry.
He attended Bible College in Peterborough, where he met his wife, Lois.
The couple served in the MacTier Pentecostal Church for four years and then pastored at the Drayton Pentecostal Church.
Bill worked part time for Robert McEachern Fuels Ltd., becoming full time there as the need arose.
He retired in 1991.
“As a pastor and an employee, Bill has faithfully and joyfully served the Lord in his long life,” church officials state. “What love, joy and peace he has shared with his family, his church families, his work and his community.”
Brown has seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Officials hope baby Denver, the youngest member of the Whites Road Pentecostal Church sitting on Bill’s lap, will be as blessed and bring as many blessings to his life’s journey as Bill Brown has.
