Puslinch resident charged after wild raven captured

PUSLINCH – A wild raven is back taking to the skies after being plucked from a tree and shoved into a vehicle.

Wellington OPP say a 70-year-old Puslinch resident grabbed a raven from neighbour’s tree and drove away with it.

A person heard the distressed bird and reviewed doorbell camera footage, police say, to find the accused person on their property grabbing the bird.

“The accused took interest in the raven and would frequently come onto their property to see it,” a press release from the OPP says.

The bird was later found unable to fly and covered in an “unknown substance.”

Police have charged the 70-year-old with unlawfully keeping wildlife in captivity.

The person is expected to appear in Guelph court.

The Ministry of Natural Resources was called, and the bird was released after cleaning.
