ARTHUR – The Arthur Optimists held their annual Fishing Derby at Burns’ Family Pond on June 14.

Over 60 kids registered for the chance to catch one or more of 200 stocked rainbow and speckled trout.

The Arthur Optimists have been holding this popular free family event for 57 years.

The next event sponsored by the club will be the Canada Day three-pitch tournament at the Arthur Fairgrounds, with men’s and mixed teams competing on June 27 and 28, and family and business teams competing on June 29.
