PALMERSTON – The Saugeen Summer Student Start-Up Program (SSUP) is igniting the entrepreneurial spirit of young minds across the region.
It launched in 2019 by the Saugeen Connects Partnership – including Brockton, Hanover, Minto, and Wellington North – in collaboration with the Saugeen Economic Development Corporation.
SSUP invites students in Grades 6 to 12 to explore self-employment during their summer break, offering them hands-on experience running their own businesses.
In the summer of 2024, 50 students took on the challenge, launching 46 successful businesses.
Since its inception, over 258 students have taken part in this entrepreneurial experience. The Blessings to You Centre is supporting this initiative once again.
