Donation of hair helps others

When seven-year-old Allana Vanderlaan, of Elora, heard about Locks Of Love, an agency based in Florida that makes real hair wigs for cancer patients, she couldn’t wait for her hair to grow to donate it.

Vanderlaan felt it was something she could give on her own to help someone in need.

Recently, she reached her milestone and was able to donate two 10-inch ponytails to Pantene Beautiful Lengths, a similar agency based in Etobicoke. Vanderlaan is planning to grow her hair and donate it again – possibly through a different agency as there are many similar groups in the province.

A thank you goes to Christina from Village Hairstyling, in Fergus, for giving a beautiful cut.
