GRAS certified as a Great Place to Work for 2021

ELORA – The team at Grand River Agricultural Society (GRAS) and Grand River Raceway has announced it has been certified as a Great Place to Work for the second time.

GRAS and the raceway were first awarded in 2019 as a Great Place to Work, and then later recognized on the 2020 list of Best Workplaces in retail and hospitality.

The organization is thrilled they continue to receive very positive feedback from their team, officials say.

Employing 75 staff members, including all those working with GRAS, the Grand River Raceway and its newest addition The GrandWay Events Centre, all three have been highly regarded as a fun and exciting place to work.

“COVID continues to make the entertainment industry challenging,” said Rena Edmondson, HR manager at GRAS.

“We are continuously looking for ways to get our team involved and be together in creative ways.

“Going through this certification process allows us to ask our employees for direct feedback on their workplace experience,” she continued. “Our employees are at the heart of our organization and their work satisfaction is important to us.”

The Great Place to Work certification is awarded after a thorough and independent analysis conducted by Great Place to Work Institute Canada, officials say.

The certification is based on direct feedback from employees, provided as part of an extensive and anonymous survey about the workplace experience.

“GRAS and Grand River Raceway have a long history, with a deep commitment to both its guests and its employees,” said Jamie Martin, director of operations. “With the newest addition of the GrandWay Events Centre, this commitment to our employees remains.

“We are fortunate to have such a passionate and dedicated team and we are thrilled they feel so strongly about continuing to work with us.”
