The 2016 Oak Tree Project has wrapped up after a successful finale event hosted at the Art Gallery of Guelph last night. The event was attended by over 200 people and raised $32,400 for Guelph/Wellington charities.
The 2016 Oak Tree winners are:
Grand Prize (winning $5000)
• The Elliott Community for their submission that will support volunteers to bring music into the lives of seniors through their Music and Memory program.
4 Finalists (each receiving $2,000)
• Big Brothers Big Sisters of Guelph
• Focus on Nature
• Guelph Neighbourhood Support Coalition
• Shelldale Better Beginnings Better Futures
The Picton Mahoney People’s Choice (winning $1,000)
• Sheldalle Better Beginnings, Better Futures
Judge’s Prize (winning $1,000)
• The Guelph Neighbourhood Support Coalition
All 20 participating charities will take home the rest of the money raised from the event’s guests, sponsors and supporters.
