Fergus Santa Claus Parade awards prizes for best floats

Parade winners – Each year certain floats in the Fergus Santa Claus Parade stand out in two categories – commercial and non-commercial – and within those are individual winners. This year the host for the parade was the Optimist Club of Fergus and the chair of the event, Jim Dandy, was on hand to present the awards and prizes to the winners on Dec. 21. This year there were approximately 40 floats and other entries in the parade. The other service clubs in town – Lions Club, Rotary Club and Kinsmen Club – take turns in hosting the parade each year. The winners this year were,from left: Cathy Daultrey of Once Upon a Guise, Elizabeth Moyer of Grand River Mustangs Girls Hockey, Barb Lee of the Elora Farmers Market, Deb Stanson of the Elora Community Theatre, Ken Morin of the Knights of Columbus, and Charelene Staken of Studio Boutique.
