There is nothing like community spirit to rally around a good cause, and supporting a local family battling against cancer will have people getting their groove on for a Zumba fitness fundraiser on Jan. 25.
Certified Zumba instructor Nerine Christie will host the hour-long Zumba class.
“These Zumba fundraisers are the best at volume,” she said. “Zumba is all about fun and it’s accessible for everyone.”
She adds that the fun atmosphere is welcoming and no skill is required, just a willingness to try.
“We want to get as many people out as possible,” said Christie, noting she is unsure of what to anticipate for attendance. “I think it will be quite busy. I’m hoping so.”
Admission to the event is $10 per person at the door or via tickets from Karisma at the Fergus General Store and through Yemaya Studio by email to yemayastudio@gmail.com or 519-831-4561.
“Hopefully people who don’t wish to participate will come and make donations at the door,” said Christie.
The Zumba fundraiser takes place at the Centre Wellington Sportsplex on Jan. 25 at 7pm. All proceeds will go directly to support a Fergus family. For more information contact Christie at 519-831-4561.
