Wilton enters mayoral race
Centre Wellington will see four familiar faces on ballot for mayor
CENTRE WELLINGTON – In a turn not previously seen in Centre Wellington, there are now four people vying for the mayor’s position in the fall municipal election.
Bronwynne Wilton, currently a councillor in Ward 5, is the latest to throw her hat into the ring.
She’ll be running against current Mayor Shawn Watters, past mayor Kelly Linton, and past councillor Neil Dunsmore.
Wilton has a background in agriculture, rural planning and landscape architecture and has her own consulting firm, Wilton Constulting Group, which focuses on strategic intitiatives in the Ontario agriculture and agri-food sector.

Watters is hoping to win the seat for a second term at the helm.
Dunsmore was a councillor from 2018 to 2022, when he ran for mayor. He’s a motivational speaker, author, and did a fundraising walk from Fergus to Ottawa, Steps to Stop the Silence, to raise awareness of mental health challenges and suicide.
Linton was mayor from 2014 to 2022 when he announced that we wasn’t running again. He was also Wellington County warden from 2018 to 2022. He has run a consulting business since that time.
