Wellington Terrace hosts Volunteer Fair

The Wellington Terrace will host a Volunteer Fair on May 16.

“This is our first-ever community Volunteer Fair and we are very excited to meet people who are interested in learning more about our various volunteer opportunities here at Wellington Terrace,” said Mary Black Gallagher, coordinator of volunteers for the organization.

The long-term care facility understands the value volunteers bring to its organization, enabling them to provide services and events, from visits with the residents to gardening, outings and in-house programs.

The Volunteer Fair is intended to encourage members of the community to get  involved.

“We will be showcasing the many different volunteer roles and services that are available throughout the seasons,” Black Gallagher said. “Some of our wonderful current volunteers will be on hand to explain their own volunteer roles, and staff will also be available to answer any questions about how to become a volunteer.”

The Volunteer Fair will be held at the Wellington Terrace, in The Clearing at the main entrance with an informal drop-in from 2 to 4pm and 6:30 to 8pm.
