Wellington North to held special meeting of council via teleconference

Clerk: meeting not open to press, public - but township working on 'broader access'

KENILWORTH – Wellington North council will be holding a special meeting at 7pm on March 25 via teleconference.

Township clerk Karren Wallace announced the meeting early that same day.

“Due to the declared emergency due to COVID-19, the meeting will be held remotely by teleconference,” Wallace stated.

“Tonight’s teleconference does not allow for the public or press to listen to the meeting, but we are working on a platform that will provide broader access for future meetings.”

A copy of the agenda, which contains just three items for discussion and one bylaw, is available on the township website. Wallace noted draft minutes will be posted within two days of the meeting.

“We know during this extraordinary time there is an understanding of the need to proceed with council business, but also to protect the public, council and staff,” Wallace stated.

“We thank you for your patience.”
