Wellington North hires director of operations
KENILWORTH - Matthew Aston returns to Wellington North as director of operations for the township.
Wellington North Mayor Andy Lennox and members of council recently made the announcement of Aston’s appointment, effective May 6.
Aston previously held the position of director of public works in Wellington North from 2015 to 2017 and he maintained strong relationships with staff and council.
He comes with 13 years experience delivering public infrastructure projects, financial and asset management, compliance and management strategies.
Aston is accustomed to aligning departmental initiatives with council’s strategic priorities, officials say.
Arriving during a high growth period, he will oversee the public works and recreation portfolios.
“We are delighted to welcome Matt back to the Wellington North family in the director of operations position,” said Lennox. “Matt has grown his knowledge base and comes to us with a proven record of leadership, project management.”
Aston has an MBA from the University of Windsor and an electrical engineering technology diploma from Conestoga College.
