Wellington County Green Legacy tree days announced for residents

Centre Wellington councillor Walt Visser recently provided council with a schedule of tree distribution days for Wellington County’s Green Legacy program.

The county’s tree planting program provides free trees for residents. Tree seedling order forms have been available since Oct. and orders can be filed until March 5. To order, email  jacquiew@wellington.ca.

There are still some Eastern White Pine, Dogwood, Red Osier and Redbud trees available, and the county will provide Rodent Guards for 80  cents and mulch mats for $1.

This year’s tree handout  schedule includes;

-Guelph-Eramosa Township, May 5 at the Rockwood Fire Hall at 5141 County Road 27, and Marden municipal garage, 7366 County Road 30, from 10am until the trees are gone. The municipality will be accepting donations of cash or canned goods to the East Wellington Community Service Food Bank. Personal tree orders will be available at the Rockwood Fire Hall. – Centre Wellington, April 28, available from the public works garage at 7444 County Road 21 on the west side of Elora, from 8am to noon, or whenever the trees are gone.
