WEB: Local Scouts enjoy the season with events

With the return of winter to the Royal City, local Scouts remain active outdoors.

In addition to activities such as skating and sledding during regular weekly meetings, the upcoming weekends provide opportunities for hundreds of Scouts to enjoy the outdoors.

On Feb. 1 to 3, over 250 Scouts (ages 11-14) and leaders will descend on the local Barber Memorial Scout Camp for Crazy Klondike Days, where they will practice their winter camping skills.

Beside sleeping in tents and cooking outdoors, the Scouts will try their hands at ‘gold rush’ activities including a wood cutting competition, orienteering/ geocaching and dog sled races.
