Weapons charges in Elora
CENTRE WELLINGTON – An Elora resident is facing weapons charges after a reported disturbance around David Street East and Geddes Street in Elora this past weekend.
Wellington County OPP responded to the disturbance on Aug. 16 at around 11:30am after a man reportedly “brandished a weapon towards two victims,” according to a news release.
Officers located the suspect, Michael Campbell, 50, of Elora, shortly after the victims called police.
He was criminally charged with two counts of assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
“The individual was taken into custody without incident. No injuries were reported,” police said.
Police would not say what the weapon was when asked by the Advertiser.
Campbell was to appear in Guelph bail court earlier this week.
