GUELPH - Susan Glasauer and Karen Rathwell, members of the board at Wellington Water Watchers (WWW), are going to a community forum on Nestlé water bottling in Vittel, France.

They have been invited by Collectif Eau 88, a group concerned about depletion of the water table in their district.

Dr. Glasauer is an assistant professor in the Department of Land Resource Science at the  University of Guelph. Rathwell is a long-time resident of Guelph and water protection activist.

They will share their experiences opposing Nestlé water extraction in Ontario. Collectif Eau 88 says Nestlé activity in Vittel is part of a global pattern of water exploitation and privatization. The group says Nestlé has been extracting water for bottling in Vittel since 1990.

A public meeting will be held in Guelph in March to report on what was learned.
