Project Eagle’s Nest has been nominated for a grant offered through an agricultural company, Cargill, that is celebrating 150 years in business and is consequently donating $25,000 to six deserving communities through their Together We Thrive campaign. Cargill asks that each applicant generate votes through their website, www.togetherwethrive.ca.

Project Eagle’s Nest organizers are asking the people of Fergus to help restore the beautiful historic building, formerly known as Centre Wellington District High School.

The restored  building will be the new home of Emmanuel Christian School.

Plans for the building are finalized and currently waiting on permits from the county.

Jackie Deboer, of the school’s fundraising committee believes Cargill’s support of education makes this a perfect fit in the efforts to restore the historic building.

Residents can vote every day for the month of June.

While $3,231,617 has been raised so far the $25,000 will go a long way to meeting the fundraising goal of $4.9 million.
