Unidentified human remains found; police seek help from public

Police are seeking help from the public in the wake of unidentified human remains being found at the scene of a Jan. 18 house fire in the Town of Erin.

On Jan. 18, members of the Wellington County OPP along with the Town of Erin Fire and Emergency Services responded to a structure fire that completely destroyed a residence located on the Eighth Line near Side Road 17, Town of Erin.

Unidentified human remains were found and sent to the Centre of Forensic Sciences for further analysis.

The Wellington County OPP Crime Unit, Forensic Identification Services Unit, the Office of the Ontario Fire Marshall and the Centre of Forensic Sciences are continuing to investigate.
