Undefeated

The Saugeen Maitland Lightning Midget AA team went undefeated to win gold Feb. 22-24 at the Walter Gretzky Tournament in Brantford. The team is coached by Ryan Black of Fergus and Kevin Weppler of Waterloo, and includes five local players: Lynsey Goodwin and Carson Lean of Fergus, and Olivia MacMillan, Emily Palmer, Kamryn Wilson of Elora. The team is also doing well in the Lower Lakes Female Hockey League playoffs, defeating the Kitchener Lady Rangers, and they are now in a third-round series against the Cambridge Roadrunners.  Submitted photo
