Two Grand River Mustangs teams bring home silver

Bringing home silver – The break between Christmas and New Year’s was a busy one for seven Grand River Mustangs local league teams (U9 to U18) as they competed in the Cripps Memorial Tournament in Kitchener. The U11LL team brought home a silver medal after winning three games in a row. These athletes played five games in under 96 hours. The semi-final game secured their spot in finals with a victory in overtime, breaking a 3 -3 tie with five minutes left on the clock. The Cripps Memorial Tournament is held in remembrance of a young Kitchener minor hockey player who passed away from injuries a few days after a car accident with a drunk driver. Mustang coaches state they are proud of all the participating teams and looking forward to the second half of the hockey season.
