Truck show gets approval for licence

Centre Wellington council approved a resolution on March 5 stating the Fergus Truck Show is an event of municipal significance.

That will allow Truck Show organizers to obtain a Liquor Licence Board of Ontario special occasion permit for the sale of alcohol at the annual event.

Vice-president Virginia Fleming told council show officials will notify the OPP, Centre Wellington fire chief and the board of health about the event, as required by the LCBO.

She also said show officials would notify the township’s chief building official of the erection of tents at the Fergus Sportsplex grounds.

Council approved the resolution unanimously. The show will run July 27 to 29.
