Puslinch Mayor Dennis Lever said township representatives had “very positive” meetings last week with provincial officials at the Rural Ontario Municipal Association conference in Toronto.

Last Sunday councillors met with Linda Jeffrey, Minister of Natural Resources, and provided an update on the “Big Lake” proposal and also discussed gravel pit rehabilitation issues, Lever explained at the March 2 council meeting.

The Puslinch delegation was denied a meeting with Minister of Transportation Kathleen Wynne, but on March 1 they discussed with Progressive Conservative Leader Tim Hudak the ministry’s plans for a Highway 6 bypass around Morriston. They also talked with Hudak about the Big Lake.

Both Jeffrey and Hudak “were very pleased with the presentations we made,” said Lever, calling the township’s trip to the conference “very successful.”
