Town changes insurance companies
Town councillors have approved switching insurance companies this year, after competitive bids were received by two companies.
Council voted 4-1 in favour of hiring Frank Cowan Insurance Company at a cost of about $151,500. The other bid was from the town’s previous provider, Jardine Lloyd Thompson, at $144,950.
Council went with the more expensive quote due to several differences in coverage and to Cowan’s extensive experience with municipal accounts.
