Tiny Trains Travel the World through Palmerston on Sept. 23

PALMERSTON – All Aboard Palmerston is bringing a new twist to its annual September Tiny Trains event.

Last year, Tiny Trains traveled the Town, this year, the committee encourages families to take on the world on Sept. 23 with activities, games, prizes and a “special treat.”

Check-in occurs between 9 and 9:30am at the Old 81 Engine, located at the entrance to the Palmerston Lions Park.

Families will receive railway worker bandanas and maps to “chug” along to a variety of “train stops” at downtown businesses, themed for various countries around the world.

“It’s an amazing fun and free event, meant to be enjoyed by children and parents alike,” says All Aboard Palmerston events committee member Connie Robinson.

New this year, Palmerston’s EarlyON Centre is offering a free (and optional) “Craft your Train” workshop on Sept. 16 from 9 to 10:30am for those interested in creating a cardboard train to wear at the event. Participants must bring their own cardboard box.

Cardboard trains are not required for participation in the Sept. 23 event, but are welcome.

Those interested are encouraged to register for free on allaboardpalmerston.ca by Sept. 15 at noon.
