Wellington County OPP investigated three vehicle thefts overnight on May 16 to 17 in Mapleton.
Police are reminding vehicle owners to secure all vehicles and are offering the following advice:
– always roll up vehicle windows and lock the doors;
– never leave a running vehicle unattended;
– those that have a garage should use it and lock the door as well as the vehicle;
– never leave car keys in plain view or in an easily accessible area;
– always park vehicles in a well-lit area; and
– never leave valuable objects or packages in full view, put them in the trunk.
Anyone seeing suspicious persons or activity near a vehicle or with information regarding the Mapleton thefts can contact Wellington County OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
