GUELPH – A Guelph man faces a number of charges, including threatening and obstructing a police officer, following a routine traffic stop here last week.

On Aug. 22 at about 7pm, a Wellington County OPP officer observed a grey SUV commit a traffic violation on York Road in Guelph, police say.

Kyle Stephen Baker, 31, of Guelph, was charged with: making an improper right turn, failing to stop for an emergency vehicle, failing to ensure a child is properly secured, obstructing a peace officer, uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm to a peace officer and driving with more than 80mg of alcohol per 100ml of blood in his system.

He is to appear in Guelph court at a later date.
