Teen arrested, charged for bringing weapon to Erin school

Police have arrested and charged a student for allegedly bringing a weapon to Erin District High School.

Wellington County OPP officers were called to the Boland Drive school on March 22 at about 9:30am.

Police say a male student was removed from a classroom by school staff after fellow students told staff the teen said he had a weapon.

“A search of the youth located an imitation firearm,” police stated in a press release.

A 16-year-old student was arrested and charged with carrying concealed weapon, assault with intent to resist arrest, possession of weapon for a dangerous purpose and uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm. He was held in police custody.
