‘Take the Stress out of IBS’ program offered online this fall

GUELPH – Take the Stress out of IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome) is being offered in an on-line format this fall to help adults of all ages decrease symptoms of IBS or a stressed stomach that have flared up during COVID19.  

This program is provided by Kathy Somers of the Stress Management and High Performance Clinic at the University of Guelph in conjunction with U of G dietitian Lindzie O’Reilly.

Topics will include:

  common food irritants to avoid;

– tips for symptom relief;

– mindful eating;

– stress management strategies; and

– relaxation techniques (and types of biofeedback) to relax the smooth muscle of the gastrointestinal tract.  

The five-session online program runs on Fridays from 12:30 to 1:30pm beginning on Oct. 20.  

The program fee is $97.
