Summer blood donor clinics

A number of blood donor clinics will take place this summer, and organizers are inviting anyone who is eligible in the community to come out and “save a life.”

The Centre Wellington Community SportsPlex located at 550 Belsyde Ave., Fergus is hosting clinics on June 20, July 17 and August 19 from 2 to 8pm.

The Elora Community Centre on 60 Davis St., will also have a clinic on Aug. 7 from 4 to 8pm.

Event co-ordinator Josie de Leon says it is especially difficult at this time of year to get a decent turn out.

“Summer months are tough months for blood collection, due to people being away on holiday, company on a shutdown or on skeleton staff and school being closed,” she says.

To donate, you must be at least 17 years old, 110 pounds and in good health.
