SSMP report coming at any time
Council has again been informed a preliminary report on the service and settlement master plan (SSMP) is coming soon.
Town manager Lisa Hass told council on Aug. 16 that a report is coming “at any time,” though she acknowledged that assurance has been made before to the town.
Hass said an official with BM Ross and Associates Ltd., the firm in charge of completing the plan, was on vacation at the time.
Councillor Josie Wintersinger broached the subject, asking why councillors haven’t heard anything about the SSMP.
“We’re spending a lot of money on it,” she noted.
There was no word on whether the recent tornado in Goderich, which is home to BM Ross and Associates, would affect the company or its deadlines with clients.
