Soup’s on at St. James church
FERGUS - The annual St. James Soup Take-out fundraiser is back with four kinds of soup on offer.
“Our church ladies made soup for an event at Christmas and everyone raved about it, so it’s back,” said church administrator and event coordinator Melanie Patterson in a phone interview.
There will be four flavours - tomato vegetable, cream of broccoli, beef barley and chicken vegetable - and all are gluten-free, Patterson said.
“And it’s the deal of the century,” she added, noting the cost of a 16-ounce container is $7, three for $20 and four containers for $25.
The soups are ready to heat and eat or can be frozen she said.
Deadline for pre-orders is March 13. Soup Day is March 18, when orders can be picked up between 10am and 2pm.
The church is located at 171 Queen St. E. in Fergus.
