Shuttle service for entertainment venues in Centre Wellington may be on the rise.
Last week the word went out that Elora Fergus Tourism was seeking sponsors for its Fergus Scottish Festival and Highland Games Shuttle Bus service.
These buses shuttle people from Grand River Raceway through Elora and Fergus,out to the festival grounds and back again.
Last year over 1,000 people used the shuttle bus service during the games and more are expected this year due to increasing word of mouth promotion as visitors start to anticipate the service.
In response to that usage and community feedback, Elora Fergus Tourism has offered to partner with Riverfest this August.
Riverfest is a two-day event in Bissell Park from Aug. 22 to 23 featuring artists including Blue Rodeo and Serena Ryder.
The shuttle would provide a similar service to the Scottish Festival bus and travel a similar route through the towns of Fergus and Elora, out to the Grand River Conservation Area and Highland Pines to accommodate those who will be camping in our community.
