Seniors" month activities
June is senior’s month in Ontario and East Wellington Community Service (EWCS) is busy planning two special events.
The theme this year is “Aging Without Boundaries: 30 Years of Celebrating Seniors.”
On June 12, the Rockwood Community Centre will be hosting a Smile Theatre performance at 2pm. Smile Theatre is a charity that creates and presents professional musical theatre productions for older adults throughout Ontario.
Admission is free but donations to EWCS are welcome. Light refreshments will be served and transportation will be provided to the event in Rockwood for those seniors living in Erin or Hillsburgh. The presentation and transportation are sponsored by Schleighal Villages and Denny’s bus lines. Registration for the event is limited to 150 people.
On June 11, there is a trip to the Walters Dinner Theatre in Bright Ontario. The event costs $90 and includes a family-style dinner, theatre presentation, return transportation and admission. Sign up before it’s too late as registration is limited.
